Would Your Life Be Happier With More Money?

escape the rat race more moeny positive mindset Mar 10, 2023

If you ever contemplate whether your life would be happier if you had more money, it's now been proven: money can buy happiness, as has been shown with a recently updated US study.

You’ve often heard the expression that money can’t buy happiness.

And there’s a famous piece of research which is often quoted that suggested that once you’ve passed the threshold of earning $75,000 a year your levels of happiness do not increase.

However, that famous study has now been retested using smartphone technology and has shown that levels of happiness do increase with incomes of up to $200,000 a year and beyond.

So, if you read the article from the Washington Post, you will have the rebuttal evidence to use, next time someone says to you that ‘money can’t buy happiness’.

Alternatively, you could ask them if they prefer standing for three hours in an airport queue followed by another four hours on a cramped uncomfortable plane with the person next to them oozing over the armrest into their personal space or flying first class.

Ask them if they enjoy waiting two years for an operation on the NHS when they are in constant pain.
Do they prefer dining at Nando’s or L’Enclume?

And then politely suggest they may want to reconsider their attitude towards money and refrain from uttering thoughtless platitudes that propagate the Rat Race agenda of mediocrity working for the benefit of the Establishment.

…And, for the record, I should say that I do realise that money doesn’t solve emotional trauma like loved ones dying or deliver true inner peace, but it sure makes life a lot nicer and enables you to help others.
